LILLIAN E. BOWSER

Lillian E. Bowser, 81, of Sanford, passed away June 25, 2010.

She was born in Natrona Heights, Pa. and lived in Sanford for 11 years. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, William L. Bowser of Sanford; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Wilson-Eichelberger Mortuary, Sanford, is in charge of all arrangements.

JOANNE L. SMITH

Joanne L. Smith, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2010 at the South Seminole Hospital, in Longwood.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 4, 1932 and moved to Sanford in 1957. Joanne had many hobbies and interests which among them were camping, ceramics, floral design and decorating for special events such as weddings and birthdays. She owned several businesses, one of which was a medical billing firm. She worked for many local physicians the last being Dr. Selassie. She was passionate about the American Legion Auxiliary Unit # 53. Joanne held the office of President for the Auxiliary Unit 4 times, former 6th District President 2 times, former Department of Florida VA&R Chairman for the Orlando VA Hospital and former Unit 53 Girls State Chairman for many years. Joanne was also the former President of the Downtown Sanford Business Women's Club.

She is survived by her loving family, husband, former American Legion Post 53 Commander, James “Jim” O. Smith, Jr. Sanford; son, Michael W. (Barbara) Ritzie, Bradenton; daughter, Diane L. Ritzie, Orleans, Ind.; step-son, Michael David (Ann) Smith, Centennial, Co.; brother, Ronald (Joan) Grosse, Garden Grove, Ca.; two grandchildren, Eric (Barbara) Ritzie, Monroe, Wa.; Jessica McDonough, Bradenton; and three step-grandchildren, Tommy and Erin Smith, both of Centennial, Co.; and Patrick Smith, Phoenix, Ariz.; four great-grandchildren, and best friends Frank and Barbara Voltoline, DeBary.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. at Gramkow Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to celebrate Joanne’s life at 4 p.m. on the same day. A second celebration will be held at a later date this year.

Gramkow Funeral Home, Sanford, is in charge of all arrangements.
