I have come a long way since my high school career started but I have faced many challenges along the way. Fun fact about me is that I was taken out of school for six years of my life. I never thought that I would be placed back in school or get the chance to experience high school life or graduate but here I am. It has been very difficult at times catching on to certain tasks and comprehending due to my disadvantage but I am very proud of myself for how far I have come. I have learned so many great things and have met so many interesting people.I also got the chance to be involved in after school activities and sports and that's something that I never thought would be possible for me. It has been an amazing experience throughout the challenges, but I have managed to keep going and do my very best Staying focused and achieving my goals.
My experience in high school has taught me how to work under pressure and stay calm and take a breath in overwhelming situations when things feel like too much to handle. High school is all about getting you prepared for your future. Making new friends, Building relationships and sharing interests with other people. It will also teach you time management skills and some responsibility. For example , turning in assignments on time and making sure that you know exactly what you’re supposed to be doing. All of these things have helped me academically by learning that it helps with time management It can be very beneficial to work with other classmates to get work done. Some of the things that I’ve learned is that you should really take everything seriously. Yes, you can have fun, but you should also stay focused in your academics because everything counts towards the end. You can’t beat around the bush and say that you will always have time later. You should prioritize it then in that moment so that you can have all the fun later. Those are some of the things that I wish that I would’ve knew in the beginning. I also learned that if I need help or are facing challenges, I always go to my teacher and ask for help. I always ask the teacher questions and raise my hand. If I don’t understand something I had to learn that it’s okay not to know the answer to the question that is being asked. Doing this will only help you in the end. It is important to have great communication with your teachers. When my grades are not looking the best and I know that I’ve turned in the work I always go to my teacher and discuss my grade to see what mistakes that I may have made and the things that I could possibly do to improve my grade. Besides trying my best to do great in school with my academics. Attending after school events and participating in sports have made my high school experience way much better. For example, I have been able to play basketball and flag football. I have always had a love for the sport of basketball and it’s something that I always will have love for. Playing helped me learn how to work in teams. Communicating with classmates. It's kind of like basketball where you have to communicate with your teammates in order to execute a play. The same goes for flag football. It’s something about being on that court and on that field. It’s something that I will always cherish. Being on the team also motivates me to do well in school because I know that if I do well in school with my grades that I will have playing time and being a student athlete can be hard, but you just have to work a little harder.
