VOLUSIA SPEEDWAY PARK

   Volusia Speedway Park in DeLeon Springs/Barberville is hosting the “Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals” beginning on Thursday and continuing over the next two weeks.

   Here is the schedule:

   Week 2 (Feb. 3-Feb. 8): DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars.

   Week 3 (Feb. 10-Feb. 15): World of Outlaws Late Models, DIRTcar Late Models, Super DIRTcar Series, USAC Non-Wing Sprint Cars.

   The daily schedule has the gates opening at 3 p.m. and racing beginning at 5:30 p.m. with Hot Laps.

   The track is located at 1500 East State Road 40 in DeLeon Springs. Take either FL-11 North or Highway-17 out of DeLand and go to SR-40 and turn left (West) if using 11 or right (East) if using 17.

 

ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD

   Coming up at Orlando Speed World Dragway:

   * Today: Wheels Up Wednesday _ “All Welcome Test and Tune and Grudge Racing” with gates opening at 6 p.m. and racing from 6 p.m.-to-10:30 p.m. $20 General Admission or $30 to race.

   * Thursday-thru-Saturday _ Cadillac Attack.

   * Sunday _ Cars, Coffee & Drags + Roll Racing. A super fun, relax, family friendly with great atmosphere for All-Ages to enjoy a day of Racing, Roll Racing & Car Show at Orlando Speed World. So come on over race your truck, minivan, car or just watch all the cool cars going down the track while enjoying some food and drinks from the OSW Cafe. Gates open at 9 a.m.; Close at 3 p.m.; General admission, $10; Racer admission, $25 (Drag, Roll Racing, Car Show); Kids under 10 years old get in FREE.

SANFORD ADULT SOFTBALL

   Here is this week’s schedule in the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department Adult Softball Polar Bear League.

   The Semi-Co-Ed/Fun League on Wednesday has Pat’s Liquor playing a doubleheaders against Wet Spot at 6:30 p.m. and Throwbacks at 7:30 p.m. The West End Trading Company will challenge Fusion at 8:30 p.m.

   Everyone is invited to watch the games for free at Pinehurst Park on West 24th Street.

   New Smyrna Speedway is hosting the 2025 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing through Saturday, February 15.

SSC SOFTBALL

   The Seminole State College of Florida softball team (6-0) began its 2025 home schedule with a weekend sweep of a doubleheader with Lake Sumter State College (6-3 and 8-3) on Friday and Florida State College at Jacksonville (2-0 and 7-1) on Saturday) at Courtney Miller Field.

   The Raiders will travel to Avon Park on Thursday for a doubleheader with South Florida State College at 4 p.m.

STETSON MEN

   The Stetson men's basketball team (7-16, 5-5 ASUN) The Stetson men's basketball team suffered an 82-56 loss to the FGCU Eagles (13-10, 8-2) at Alico Arena in Fort Myers Saturday night.

   Josh Massey led the way for the Hatters with 19 points and five rebounds. Mehki Ellison added 13 points to help pace the offense.

   Up Next:

   The Hatters will return to Insight Credit Union Arena at Edmunds Center for a 2-game homestand on Thursday against Jacksonville at 7 p.m. and Saturday versus Eastern Kentucky at 4 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

 

STETSON WOMEN

   The Stetson women’s basketball team (12-10, 6-4 ASUN) swept a pair of home conference games last week.

   The Hatters cruised to a 79-63 victory over Austin Peay (10-10, 5-4) Thursday afternoon at the Insight Credit Union Arena before nearly 800 students for Elementary Day.

   Cameron Thomas led the way with 19 points and seven rebounds. Mary McMillan added 17 points and Promise Keshi chipped in with 13, tying her career-high.

   On Saturday, Thomas scored 26 points to lead Stetson to a 74-70 victory over the Lipscomb Bisons (13-8, 6-4).

   Shelby Calhoun contributed 13 points, seven rebounds, and two steals and Keshi also had a strong performance with seven points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks.

   Up Next:

   The Hatters will head to Kentucky for games against Eastern Kentucky at Alumni Coliseum in Richmond on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Saturday versus Bellarmine at historic Freedom Hall in Louisville at 2 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

 

SSC BASEBALL

   The Seminole State College of Florida baseball team (4-2) swept a 3-game series with Tallahassee State College, 13-4 on Friday in the State Capital, and 7-0 and 9-2 on Saturday in a home-season opening doubleheader at Jack Pantelias Field.

   The Raiders were also at home on Tuesday to host Daytona State College before heading to Palatka to take part in the Capital City Bank Classic at St. Johns River State College to face Florence-Darlington Technical College (South Carolina), at noon on Friday; East Georgia State College at 4 p.m. on Saturday and host SJRSC at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
