ORLANDO — Back in Orlando since December, UCF head coach Scott Frost and the Knights have their 2025 schedule in hand, following Tuesday’s Big 12 Conference announcement. The slate features seven home games, including four conference matchups, five road contests, and three nonconference battles at FBC Mortgage Stadium. UCF kicks off the season with a pair of nonconference home games, as Jacksonville State, the defending Conference USA Champions, heads to Orlando for the season opener Thursday, Aug. 28, followed by a visit from North Carolina A&T on Saturday, Sept. 6.

After a bye week on Sept. 13, North Carolina and its new head coach, Bill Belichick, will make their way to the Bounce House. Although UCF had two previously scheduled matchups against the Tar Heels, neither game materialized. The Knights were set to visit Chapel Hill in 2018, but the game was canceled due to a hurricane affecting the Orlando area, while the 2020 matchup was called off because of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, UCF’s first three games of the season will be first-time matchups against each opponent.

Similar to UCF’s inaugural Big 12 season in 2023, the Black and Gold will open conference play at Kansas State on Sept. 27. The following week, Kansas makes its first trip to FBC Mortgage Stadium for UCF’s home conference opener on Oct. 4.

The Knights travel to Cincinnati on Oct. 11, marking the 11th consecutive season the two programs have faced off. On Oct. 18, West Virginia visits Orlando before UCF enters its second bye week of the season on Oct. 25.

The Knights make two trips to the state of Texas in November, including their first trip to Waco to take on Baylor on Nov. 1. Houston travels to UCF on Nov. 8, ahead of the Knights return trip to Texas to battle Texas Tech on No. 15.

UCF wraps up the season by hosting Oklahoma State on Nov. 22 and heading to BYU for the regular-season finale Nov. 29.

The Knights’ 2025 slate features two home games in September, October and November, with home and away matchups alternating starting with the North Carolina game. UCF also does not have consecutive road contests, as each away game is followed by a home game.

Seven teams on UCF’s schedule were bowl eligible in 2024, including five teams that won at least eight games (JSU, Baylor, BYU, Kansas State and Texas Tech).

Kickoff times for the first three weeks of the season will be announced this summer. The Big 12 will publish the remainder of the game times on a regular basis throughout the fall, on either a 12- or six-day turnaround from week to week.
