SANFORD ADULT SOFTBALL
Here is this week’s schedule in the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department Adult Softball Polar Bear League.
The Semi-Co-Ed/Fun League on Wednesday has Throwbacks playing a doubleheader against The West End Trading Company at 6:30 p.m. and Wet Spot at 7:30 p.m. Fusion and Pat’s Liquor have the week off will challenge Wet Spot at 8:30 p.m.
Everyone is invited to watch the games for free at Pinehurst Park on West 24th Street.

SSC BASEBALL
The Seminole State College of Florida baseball team (8-6) went 1-2 as it opened Citrus Conference play with State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, winning 10-9 in a 10-inning walkoff at Jack Pantelias Field on Thursday before dropping a doubleheader, 16-3 and 12-1, in Bradenton on Saturday.

The Raiders hosted CBCC-Catonsville (Maryland) on Tuesday and will head to Miami Dade College on Thursday for a single game before both teams return to Sanford on Saturday for a double-dip at noon.

STETSON WOMEN
Cameron Thomas and Jorah Eppley combined for 26 points, accounting for 60.5% of Stetson's scoring, but the Hatters fell to the FGCU Eagles 65-43 on the road Saturday afternoon.
Thomas led the Hatters, now 14-12 on the season and 8-6 in ASUN play, with 17 points and two steals. Diawna Carter-Hartley added seven points and eight rebounds, while Eppley chipped in nine points off the bench. Stetson's bench came alive, contributing 19 points to the total..

The Hatters are on the road to face West Georgia at The Arena in Carrollton, Georgia, on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and will head to Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday to challenge Queens College at Curry Arena at 2 p.m. The games will be streamed on ESPN+.
STETSON MEN
The Stetson men's basketball team (7-20, 5-9 ASUN) dropped a pair of games on a trip to Tennessee, falling 93-60 to the Lipscomb Bisons in Nashville on Thursday and 73-63 to the Austin Peay Governors in Clarksville on Saturday.
Trenton Thompson led Stetson against Lipscomb with 15 points, while Mehki Ellison added 13 points and four assists. Jordan Wood chipped in with seven points.
On Saturday, Jamie Phillips Jr. led the Hatters with a career-high 26 points, while Wood added 12 points. Stetson out-rebounded Austin Peay, 29-27, with Josh Massey pulling down seven boards.

UCF SOFTBALL
The UCF softball team (7-4-1) had a productive, if not overly successful, weekend at the 2025 Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational at the Eddie C. Moore Complex, going 1-3-1.
The Knights dropped a 9-1, 5-inning decision to #5 Texas A&M and suffered a tough, 1-0, setback to Auburn on Friday; defeated Clemson, 6-4 in 8-innings, on Saturday; tied Ohio State, 4-4, in a game stopped by rain in the fifth inning and fell 8-1 on National TV to #6 Florida State on Sunday.

The Seminole State College of Florida softball team (12-1) posted a 4-1 week at home, besting Cleveland State University (Ohio), 6-5, last Wednesday, before splitting a doubleheader with St. Johns River Community College, losing 4-3 and winning 6-5 on Thursday, and then sweeping South Florida State College, 11-1 and 10-2, both in 5-innings, on Saturday.
