ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD

   Coming up at Orlando Speed World Dragway:

   * Today (Saturday) _ Day two of the season Opening Doubleheader for the J.W. Performance Transmission, Inc. NHRA ET Bracket Points Series. Events include Novice Jr. Dragster (6-9 year olds), Intermediate Jr. Dragster (10-12 year olds), Pro Sportsman Jr. Dragster (13-17 year olds), Jr. Street (13-18 year olds), Pro (No Box) ET, Super Pro, Quick 32, Pro Motorcycle and Sportsman. Gates open at 8 a.m. JDRL Qualifying at 9 a.m. and LODRS Eliminations at 9:30 a.m.

   * Wheels Up Wednesday _ “All Welcome Test and Tune and Grudge Racing” with gates opening at 6 p.m. and racing from 6 p.m.-to-10:30 p.m. $20 General Admission or $30 to race.

UCF SOFTBALL

   The UCF softball team is hosting the SpaceU Classic this weekend at the UCF Softball Complex and here is the remaining schedule:

   Today (Saturday) _ Pitt vs. Quinnipiac, 9 a.m.; Pitt vs. FGCU, 11:30 a.m.; Columbia vs, FGCU, 2 p.m.; UCF vs. Columbia, 4:30 p.m.

   Sunday _ Columbia vs. Quinnipiac, 9 a.m.; FGCU vs. Quinnipiac, 11:30 a.m.; UCF vs. FGCU, 2 p.m.

   The UCF games will be streamed on ESPN+.

 

SSC SOFTBALL

   The Seminole State College of Florida softball team (12-1) is playing in the NFCA Leadoff at the South Commons Complex in Columbus, Georgia, and will take on Pearl River Community College (11 a.m.) and Illinois Central College (1:30 p.m.) today (Saturday) and Chipola College at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

   The Raiders will return to campus to open Citrus Conference play in a doubleheader against Santa Fe College on Tuesday 1 p.m. at Courtney Miller Field.

SSC BASEBALL

   The Seminole State College of Florida baseball team (9-6 overall, 1-2 Citrus Conference) romped past CBCC-Catonsville (Maryland) on Tuesday play, 13-0 in a seven innings, at Jack Pantelias Field.

   Up Next:

   The Raiders were at Miami Dade College on Thursday for a single Citrus Conference game and the teams are in Sanford today (Saturday) for a doubleheader at noon at “The Jack.” The team will head to Leesburg on Tuesday to challenge Lake Sumter State College.

UCF BASEBALL

  The UCF baseball team continues its early season homestand by hosting SEC foe Missouri on Thursday and Bryant on Friday at John Euliano Park. The Black and Gold will close out the three-game series with Bryant today (Saturday) at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., before hosting FAU on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The games will be streamed on ESPN+, while live audio will be available by visiting UCFKnights.com or FM 96.9 The Game on the radio and live stats can also be followed at ucf.statbroadcast.com.

 

STETSON WOMEN

   The Stetson women’s basketball team was at West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia, on Thursday and is in Charlotte, North Carolina, today (Saturday) to challenge Queens College at Curry Arena at 2 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

 

SANFORD ADULT FLAG FOOTBALL

   The City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department Adult Spring Flag Football Spring Season begins on Sunday at the Tim Raines Sports Park on the corner of 13th Street (Celery Avenue) and Mellonville Avenue.

   Here is the opening week schedule:

   At 1 p.m., Oblivion plays Kaijus; at 2 p.m., Swamp Kings battles DT Dawgs; at 3 p.m., Rum Runners squares off with Wasted Talent; and at 4 p.m., The Misfits face Bokey Bandits.

   Everyone is invited to watch the games for free.

STETSON MEN

   Jamie Phillips Jr., Josh Massey and Jordan Wood combined for 54 of the Hatters' 71 points, but the Stetson men's basketball team (7-21, 5-10 ASUN) fell short in a 79-71 loss to North Florida at the Insight Credit Union Arena in the Edmunds Center on Tuesday.

   Phillips Jr. had 20 points and four assists, Massey added 19 points, six rebounds and two blocks, and Wood contributed 15 points and two steals.

   Up Next:

   The Hatters welcomed FGCU to Insight Credit Union Arena at Edmunds Center on Thursday and will play their final home game on Monday against Bellermine at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

 

SANFORD ADULT SOFTBALL

   Here is this week’s schedule in the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department Adult Softball Polar Bear League.

    The Men’s League on Tuesday has Venezolanos en Sanford tackling the Bokey Batters at 6:30 p.m. and The West End Trading Company battling The Handicaps at 7:30 p.m.

   The Semi-Co-Ed/Fun League on Wednesday has The West End Trading Company playing a doubleheader against Throwbacks at 6:30 p.m. and Wet Spot at 7:30 p.m. Fusion will challenge Pat’s Liquor at 8:30 p.m.

   Everyone is invited to watch the games for free at Pinehurst Park on West 24th Street.
