The Oviedo Police Department will host a Car Seat Check-up Event on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Oviedo Police officers will be on-site for a free car seat check for any resident who wants to en sure their car seats are installed properly or needs help installing them.
Nationally, four out of five car seats are used incorrectly or improperly installed. According to HealthyChildren.org, not all car safety seats are the same. The type of seat your child needs de pends on several factors such as age, size and de velopmental needs.
Officers will be working alongside Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians to assist with properly installing car seats. Any caregivers with kids needing a car seat installed are encouraged to come to the Oviedo Police Department between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for a check! Officers and Safety Technicians will also demonstrate how to install safety seats that are brought. No seats will be provided at this event.
The event is free to the public and will be held at the Oviedo Police Department at 300 Alexandria Blvd. There will be signs directing traffic to the safety check site.
