What is wrong with Donald Trump? He has cutoff all foreign aid except to Israel and Egypt. Doesn't he know this is one of the biggest scandals of all time?
Picture this, you, a bureaucrat charged with handing out money to various less than desirable countries. They are grateful, how can they express their gratitude? It is like small time bribes in this country, you know, tickets to the Super Bowl, skiing trips to White fish, that sort of thing, but on a bigger scale.
Who is going to look at the books of largess to some god forbidden place in Africa, the Middle East, South America? Nobody. Millions or billions of dollars rained down on a country that doesn't have the infrastructure to handle it. The money has to go somewhere. It ends up in the pockets of a few big shots who re ally like the hand that feeds, which means to them, you, the bureaucrat that got them the funds in the first place.
A lot of times there are strings at tached to the money. If it is spent, it must go to American products or serv ices, usually in the districts of those in Congress that got the legislation passed to spend the money in the first place.
We see the gnashing of teeth over the monies spent in the Russian-Ukraine War. The money doesn't go directly to Kiev, it goes through middlemen, the U.S. military industrial complex.
Such is life, Trump wants to change this, good luck.
