SANFORD — For the second time in five years, a boys basketball player representing Crooms Academy for Information Technology has been named a District Player of the Year.
Julian Gill, a 5-foot-10, 155-pound sophomore point guard, averaged 19.3-points, 6.9-rebounds and 3.9-assists per game in helping lead Head Coach Keith Wright’s Panthers to an 11-10 record and the No. 2 seed in Class 3A-District 7 this season.
For his efforts, Gill was named the FACA (Florida Athletic Coaches Association) Class 3A-District 7 Player of the Year, the second player to be so honored since Wright, who was named the District Coach of the Year in 2021, took over the program in 2019.
