SANFORD — While the past couple of days has been very windy, somewhat wet, and much cooler, the weekend and the week ahead looks to be a perfect time to get out into the great outdoors, not to hot and not too wet.
Not to mention an hour more sunlight as Daylight Saving Time kicks in at 2 a.m. on Sunday.
Activities are picking up quickly for members of the Lake Monroe Sailing Association as after attending an event at Lake Fairview in Orlando last Sunday, the LMSA will host a pair of its most popular events over the next five days.
Today (Saturday) the Club will host it’s monthly LMSA Members Club Race Day with Race #3 of the 2025 Members Club Race Series, sponsored by Sanford Brewing for the Hayden Trophy. Skippers meeting at noon.
Then on Wednesday, it will be the return of weekly Rum Racing with the inaugural evening of Goslings Rum Wednesday Night Racing.
A beautiful sunset race, followed by social time and an Awards Ceremony at Filomena's with STICKERS and a BOOZE RAFFLE!
If you are looking to crew, be down at the ramp by 5:30 p.m. If you are sailing, the starting window will be between 6 p.m.-and-6:05 p.m.

Sunday _ First Warning will be at 9:55 a.m. No races after 2 p.m. Awards following the races.
* Sunday, March 23 _ Sine Metu Jameson Irish Whiskey race, sponsored by The Breezeway. The start window is 1:25 p.m.
* Thursday, March 27 _ The monthly LMSA Membership Meeting will be held from 7 p.m.-to-8 p.m. at the LMSA Club House (531 North Palmetto Avenue).
* Saturday-Sunday, March 29-30 _ Mount Dora Regatta.
