SANFORD YOUTH SPORTS

   The City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department Youth Spring Flag Football and Soccer Leagues will be in action at The Jeff Triplett Community Center @ Tim Raines Sports Complex on Saturday.

SSC BASEBALL

   The Seminole State College of Florida baseball team (15-8 overall, 5-4 Citrus Conference) dropped an 8-5 decision at “The Jack” on Monday to Jackson College from Michigan and opened a 3-game Conference series with the College of Central Florida in Ocala on Thursday.

   The Raiders will host the Patriots in a doubleheader today (Saturday) at 11 a.m. and also host Lake Sumter State College on Tuesday at Jack Pantelias Field at 3 p.m.

SSC SOFTBALL

   The Seminole State College of Florida softball team (19-5, 3-3 Citrus Conference) split a Citrus Conference doubleheader in Winter Haven on Tuesday against Polk State College, winning 8-0 in 6-innings and dropping the nightcap, 10-5.

   The Raiders continued a busy week with a pair of non-conference games on Friday against MCC Mott Community College and Cuyahoga Community College at Hancock Park in Clermont, before returning to Courtney Miller Park today (Saturday) for a Citrus double-dip with Miami-Dade College at noon and remain at home on Tuesday for a conference deuce with East Florida State College at 2 p.m.

STETSON WOMEN

   The Stetson women’s basketball team (16-14, 10-8 ASUN) is set for the ASUN Championship Tournament and will face #4 Eastern Kentucky in Richmond at 3 p.m. today (Saturday). The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

 

UCF SOFTBALL

   The UCF softball team began Big 12 Conference play with a three-game series in Tucson, Arizona, against the No. 7 Arizona Wildcats on Friday. Start times are set for Game 2 is 6 p.m. today (Saturday) and Game 3 at 1 p.m. on Sunday. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.

ORLANDO VALKYRIES

   The Orlando Valkyries (10-4), who pushed their win streak to eight, setting the record for consecutive wins in Pro Volleyball Federation history, will return to action on Sunday, as they take on the Columbus Fury at 6 p.m. at Addition Financial Arena and the game will be carried by CBS Sports Network. The match versus Columbus will mark the first of three matches for Orlando (Thursday and Saturday) in a span of six days.

SANFORD ADULT SOFTBALL

   Here is this week’s schedule in the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department Adult Softball Polar Bear League.

   The Men’s League on Tuesday has completed the regular season and will be playing its Postseason Tournament this week with No. 3 (The Handicaps)playing No. 2 (The West End Trading Company) at 6:30 p.m. and No. 1 (Venezolanos en Sanford) taking on No. 4 (Bokey Natters) at 7:30 p.m. The semifinal winners will advance to the Championship Game at 8:30 p.m.

   Everyone is invited to watch the games for free at Pinehurst Park on West 24th Street.
