Letter to the Editor: It is not too late!

In July 1940, Great Britain, the oldest and closest friend and ally of the United States was standing alone against the armies of Hitler that occupied the rest of Europe. Many in America were ready to write off G. Britain as a lost cause and seek peace accommodation with the aggressor. Instead of pledging support to the besieged country, some members of the US Congress, particularly Senate leaders, demanded Britain pay off its debts from WWI and cede some of its territory to US. Were it not for the unrelenting support of President Roosevelt and the courageous fight to death by the Brits themselves, the history would be written differently.

Today we do not have a leader of FDR’s courage and integrity to stand up for our country and its allies. Today we are in the hands of an unprincipled traitor who has sold out to the enemy under the thin pretense of saving the world from nuclear war. Before history condemned him, shame on everybody who supports his criminal behavior. Shame on all of us who still keep silent.
