ORLANDO — Dom Stagliano pitched six scoreless innings en route to leading UCF baseball (12-3) to an 8-0 shutout victory over Monmouth on Sunday afternoon at John Euliano Park to secure the series sweep.

The Knights extended their winning streak to six in a row and has outscored its opponents by an impressive, 80-to-10, during the stretch. The shutout marked the Black and Gold’s second of the season, as a trio of pitchers combined to limit the Hawks (4-10) to just five hits on the afternoon.

With 10 hits as a team, the Knights have now recorded double figures in hits in 12 of their 15 games on the season.

The six-game winning streak matches UCF’s high for the season, as it previously won its first six games of the 2025 campaign. During the Black and Gold’s current six-game streak, it has defeated rival South Florida twice (12-1 and 12-2), No. 6 Florida (13-3), and Monmouth three times (17-1, 18-3, 8-0).

Sunday’s victory also ended a stretch of UCF scoring at least 12 runs in five straight games.

Edian Espinal continued his amazing season, going 7-for-11 with a double, five runs scored and two RBI. The junior infielder is now 21-for-38 on the season, good for the sixth best average in the country at .533.

The long ball was prevalent over the weekend with Lex Boedicker and Dylan Kin both hitting a pair and Andrew Williamson also blasting a home run.
