AUGUSTA, Ga. — Flagler College's Josiah Shackelford has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and has also earned All-Peach Belt Conference Third Team honors, according to a release by conference officials.
Vaughn McCall was the last Flagler player to earn freshman of the year honors (2015-16).
Shackelford, a freshman guard/forward from Seminole High School, averaged a team-high 15.8 points per game as he earned third team all-conference accolades. He grabbed 4.0 rebounds per game. He recorded his first collegiate double-double in the regular season finale with 26 points and 10 rebounds at Georgia Southwestern State University. The Sanford native is 11th in the PBC in scoring and fifth in three-pointers made per game (2.2).
