Nice recovery.
A big week of racing for the Lake Monroe Sailing Association (LMSA) got off to a standstill _ literally _ as Race #3 of the 2025 Members Club Race Series, sponsored by Sanford Brewing for the Hayden Trophy, was abandoned on Sunday because of a lack of wind.
But on an absolutely gorgeous Wednesday evening, the LMSA was able to begin its weekly Goslings Rum Wednesday Night Racing season with 10 boats taking to the lake.
And the racing was just as beautiful as Wicklow Way, under the guidance of Rich Gailey, crossed the finish line just 27-seconds ahead of Bad JuJu, with Dave Rink in charge, and 38-seconds head of third place finishing Fleur de Mer III under Captain Olivier Fleury.
In addition to being the overall winner, Wicklow Way was also the top finishing Displacement Boat and Bad JuJu was the best of the Planing Boat Class.
Following the racing, the group moved over to Filomena's Pizzeria for a social time that also featured the presentation of Stickers and a raffle for the bottle of Goslings Rum.
