Farm to Fork 2025 Webinar Series

Tuesday, April 1: Growing Edible Native Plants in Your Garden. Zoom - once a month webinar. Learn more about your food & local agriculture? Join UF/IFAS Extension Seminole County to learn all about food from farm to fork. Free. Must register in advance on Zoom.  Webinar is Part 1 in monthly Farm to Fork Sessions. On Thursday after each webinar, Part 2 is offered, an in-person workshop, with hands on activities that pairs with the webinar. Having tech trouble? Make an appointment at the Information Desk or call the North Branch library in Sanford at 407-665-1620 for an hour-long help session. We can help with creating an email account, downloading eBooks and audiobooks, making a resume, figuring out social media and more. Free. For adults. Registration required.

 

Geneva Community Yoga

Tuesday, April 1,  9:45 a.m., Rural Heritage Center (old brick school at First and Main), Geneva. Instructor Don Cross. Musical Nationalism 

Friday, April 4, 7 p.m., 2021 W. State Road 426, Oviedo. Come celebrate "Musical Nationalism--sharing our musical identities" with the Orlando Concert Band, hosted by the St. Luke's Concert Series. We will feature the music of Franz Strauss, Jean Sibelius, Gioachino Rossini, Morton Gould & others. All concerts free & seating is open. All British Car Show

Saturday, April 5, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Henry’s Depot, Sanford. This event features all classes of British automobiles, including MGs, Austin-Healeys, Triumphs, Jaguars, Minis; Lotus’; Rolls Royces and more.

 

Owl Prowl

Saturday, April 5, 7 to 9 p.m., Lake Proctor Wilderness Area (off Osceola Rd.) in Geneva. Explore the park after dark in search of owls. Identify owls by sight & hoots. Dulcimer Gathering

Sunday, April 6, 1 p.m., Rural Heritage Center, 101 E. Main St., Geneva. Try out one of our mountain dulcimers to see if you would like to learn or bring your own dulcimer & learn to play it. A dulcimer is one of the easiest instruments to learn to play. Genealogy Fair

Sunday, April 6, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., North Branch Library, 150 N. Palmetto Avenue, Sanford. Come learn about genealogy, from our experts and each other, in collaboration with the Sanford Genealogy Club. All experience levels are welcome. Blackout Poetry

Tuesday, April 8, 5:30 p.m., North Branch Library, 150 N. Palmetto Avenue, Sanford. April is National Poetry Month, so try creating some poetry of your own! Blackout poetry is a low pressure, accessible writing exercise that can result in surprisingly meaningful art. Grab a marker, and a newspaper or unwanted book, and get ready to find a poem of your own not by writing words, but by erasing them. Supplies provided. Free. For adults.

 

Central Florida Spokes Luncheon
