Pet of the Week: Dante

Meet Dante, a 4-year-old sweetheart who holds the title of our longest cat resident, having waited over 45 days for someone to give him the forever home he so deserves. Dante isn’t just another face in the shelter, he’s a gentle, friendly soul. Whether he's lounging in a cozy corner or rubbing up against the kennel door to greet visitors, Dante’s easygoing nature and affectionate personality shine through. One thing that makes Dante a little unique is that he is FIV-positive. While this may sound intimidating at first, it doesn’t define him. Cats with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) can live long, healthy, and happy lives, especially when kept indoors and given regular vet care. FIV is not transmittable to humans and is only spread between cats through deep bite wounds, making it safe for Dante to live with other friendly, non-aggressive cats. Dante is already neutered, microchipped, and fully up-to-date on all his vaccinations, which means he’s completely ready to go home the very same day he’s adopted. All he needs now is someone to look past the label and see the loving, devoted companion waiting for a second chance. If you’ve been looking for a low-key, affectionate housecat to keep you company, Dante could be the perfect match. He’s been incredibly patient during his stay, and we just know there’s a special person out there who will appreciate his quiet charm and kind spirit. Come meet Dante in person at Seminole County Animal Services, located at 232 Eslinger Way in Sanford. Adoption hours are Monday – Friday from 12PM-6PM and Saturdays from 10AM-4PM.
