A Day at the Beach
Limpid wind at the beach
My limbs fall fast asleep and burn in the sun
A dog barks with its tail wagging and paws prancing
Seagulls make quips
This funny salty taste in my mouth after being clumsy in the waves.
As I go for a stroll along the shore,
My feet imprint in the sand, but
The tide will wash away any evidence.
Sand grains left on a book that has taken me forever to finish and
On this journal entry page where I’d like a bucket of words to spill onto.
A day at the beach to relish what’s around me and to lessen my worries within.
