Altamonte Springs and Seminole County recently commemorated the grand opening of Banyan East Town Apartments — a new affordable housing development serving families in Central Florida. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by guided tours of a model apartment and key community amenities such as the clubhouse, fitness center and meeting rooms.
This 92-unit complex, located near the Altamonte Springs SunRail station, is dedicated to residents earning 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI) or below. Beyond the beautiful design and green infrastructure, residents will have access to free programs such as adult literacy, financial management and employment support.
This development is a shining example of what happens when partnerships work—bringing together local government, development leaders and community-focused institutions to make a real difference.
The apartments are located at Banyan East Town Apartments, 1010 Merritt Street, Altamonte Springs.
Several key officials were on hand for the event such as Altamonte Springs Mayor Pat Bates, Seminole County Commissioner Amy Lockhart, Florida Representative David Smith, Ron Lieberman, Florida Housing Finance Corporation, Lesli Carroll, Truist Bank and Jeffrey Kiss, Alexander Kiss & Scott Zimmerman, Banyan Development Group.
