ORLANDO PRIDE

The Orlando Pride (4-1-0, 12 points) fell to the Washington Spirit (4-1-0, 12 points) via a 1-0 scoreline at Inter&Co Stadium on Saturday evening. The Pride suffered their first loss of the season after starting out with four straight wins. The match marked the first regular season loss for the team in Orlando against the Spirit since October 5, 2019.

   Scoring Summary:

   * 63’ - Gift Monday – WAS 1, ORL 0 _ The Washington Spirit scored the lone goal of the match 18 minutes into the second half to take the lead. Orlando Pride goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse received a pass from defender Emily Sams in her own six-yard box. Washington Spirit forward Gift Monday intercepted a pass from Moorhouse who attempted to send the ball out of the box and proceeded to tap it into the empty net.

   Next Match:

The Orlando Pride will remain home as they get set to welcome Angel City FC to Inter&Co Stadium on Friday. That match is set to kick off at 8 p.m. on Prime Video. For more information on Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride, visit OrlandoCitySC.com or Orlando-Pride.com.

ORLANDO VALKYRIES

After career nights from Natalie Foster, Kaz Brown and Brittany Abercrombie the Orlando Valkyries (14-10) are headed to the playoffs, completing a road sweep over the Columbus Fury (8-16) by set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-17. The Valkyries join the Atlanta Vibe and the Omaha Supernovas as the only three teams that have clinched a playoff bid. With only one more spot up for grabs, Orlando will have their chance to compete for a championship in Vegas from May 9-11.

In what was a good night to get the offense back into a rhythm, the Valkyries hit to the tune of an incredible .333 efficiency, the first time they’ve hit over .300 since February 27, when they swept the Omaha Supernovas on the road. In each set, the Valkyries were able to get out to early leads that made it difficult for Columbus to challenge.

   Up Next:

With just four matches left to go in the regular season, the Valkyries will aim to build on this momentum, as they look to play their best ball as they head into the playoffs. Their next match will be a great test towards that, as they will travel to Fishers, Indiana, to take on the Indy Ignite on Friday starting at 7 p.m. Go to _ https://provolleyball.com/teams/orlando-valkyries _ for more information.

ORLANDO CITY

   Next Match:

Orlando City will next return home to host Atlanta United FC at Inter&Co Stadium on Saturday. That match is set to kick off at 7:15 p.m. on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on Apple TV+. For more information on Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride, visit OrlandoCitySC.com or Orlando-Pride.com.
