Led by the two-time defending State Champion Lake Mary boys (16-0), Seminole County will be fairly well represented as four At Large teams have been invited to join two other District Champions in the FHSAA Regional Tournament.
All three local champions _ the Rams boys and Lake Mary girls (15-3) in Class 2A-District 5 and the Hagerty girls (14-5) in Class 2A-District 6 _ will be the top seeds in their respective Regions and will be joined by the Oviedo boys (14-3) in 2A-1, the Lake Brantley girls (9-9) in 2A-1 and the Oviedo (11-6) and Lake Howell (13-6) girls in 2A-Region 2.
The Regional Quarterfinals began on Tuesday with the five local girls teams all in action, while the two boys teams will open play tonight (Wednesday).
Quarterfinal winners will advance to the Regional Semifinals with the girls playing on Tuesday, April 29, and the boys on Wednesday, April 30.
The Regional Championship Games will be on Friday, May 2, for the girls and Saturday, May 3, for the boys.
