The athletic year is quickly coming to an end for UCF, but six programs are still hunting for elusive Big 12 Conference and NCAA national titles.

The Knights tennis program had the men opening NCAA Regional Play by taking on Miami last Saturday and then the winner would take on the winner of South Florida and Florida on Sunday at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona.

The No. 19 women faced Furman and NC State took on Charleston Southern in the first round of the NC State regional on Friday at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh. The winners were to have met for a spot in the NCAA Final 16 on Saturday.

After playing eight of its last nine games at home, the UCF baseball team (24-20) ventured out on the road to open a seven-game road trip with a league series at Oklahoma State over the weekend.

After getting swept at home last weekend by first place and 10th-ranked West Virginia, the Black and Gold responded by defeating in-state foe North Florida, 9-3, in midweek action last Tuesday night.

The Knights got a trio of two-run doubles in the early innings of Tuesday’s game to jump out to an early 7-0 lead. Andrew Sundean started the scoring with a two-run double in the first. Edian Espinal then added a two-run double of his own in the third and Dylan King made it 7-0 in the fourth with a two-run double. UNF then picked up a trio of runs over the next couple of innings to pull within 7-3, but Andrew Williamson put the knights back on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth and Antonio Jimenez helped the Black and Gold put the game out of reach in the bottom of the eighth with a sac fly.

Grant Siegel started on the mound and went 4.1 innings. Seniors Wiley Hartley and Dom Stagliano then followed and combined to allow just one unearned run over the final 4.2 innings to record the victory. Hartley went 1.1 innings in his first relief outing of the year to move to 5-1 on the season while Stagliano went 3.1 innings to earn his second save. Stagliano allowed just three hits and no runs while striking out five on the night.

The team also play a non-conference midweek game at Missouri State on Tuesday and will head to Lubbock for a three-game league series against Texas Tech at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park on Friday (7 p.m.), Saturday (3 p.m.) and Sunday (2 p.m.). The games will be streamed on ESPN+ and will be carried by FM 96.9 The Game on the radio. Live audio will be available by visiting UCFKnights.com and live stats can be followed at ucf.statbroadcast.com.

The Knights will return to Orlando on Tuesday (May 13) to host Presbyterian at 6 p.m. at John Euliano Park.

The UCF softball team (29-21-1) wrapped up the 2025 regular season with a three-game road set against the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence, Kansas, last weekend, and will be taking part in the 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship on OGE Energy Field at Devon Park in Oklahoma City today (Wednesday, May 7). The event will continue until Saturday, May 10.
