The Lake Howell High School boys volleyball team (29-2) capped off a perfect postseason with its seventh straight 3-0 sweep, 25-20, 25-17 and 25-16, over top-seeded Reagan High School (25-5) from Doral in the FHSAA Class 2A State Championship Match Saturday afternoon at the Winter Haven Health Center on the campus of Polk State College.
The Silverhawks did not suffer a single set loss in any of their seven matches in the postseason.
The No. 3 seeds had reached the Championship Match with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15 and 25-23) sweep of No. 2 seeded Suncoast High School (23-2) from Riviera Beach in Friday’s Semifinals.
The squad was led by Head Coach/Athletic Director Dr. Scott Leman, who was assisted by Henry Shehu and Manny Castro.
Making up the roster were Seniors: Fischer Baggett, Jayke Dent, Camilo Gonzalez, Cade Sinness and Tyler Windt; Juniors: Kason Bardsley, Shaun Bojko, Xavier Borges, Lukas Christman, Kaiden Mezalon, Jayden Rivera, Julien Rogers and Ethan Tipton; and Sophomores: Zac Crandell and Sawyer Knight.
