Three’s a crowd
Oviedo police responded to 579 E Broadway St, Oviedo on the night of May 18 after receiving a call about a disturbance involving a man and a woman. On arrival, officers spoke with the man who explained that he was sitting in his room with his current girlfriend when his ex-girlfriend barged in without permission. When his ex entered, his girlfriend jumped out of bed, resulting in the suspect pushing her on the floor. The suspect then raised a silver knife at the man and threatened to “blow his fucking head off.” The man then told the suspect to leave his house and said he was going to call the police. As the suspect was leaving, she attempted to strike the man with beer bottle, which he was able to grab from her before being hit. The suspect then drove to her home, where officers made contact with the woman. She painted a different picture and said the man was cheating on her and that she didn’t have any weapons or touch anyone. Barbara Ann Tolbert, 56, of Oviedo, was charged with battery touch or strike (dating violence), aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and battery touch or strike.
Another brick in the car
A Sanford police officer spoke with a man in the parking lot of HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital on May 15 after he had been sprayed with pepper spray as a result of a disturbance he was involved in. The man was suspected of throwing a brick in a window at 1411 Halstead Lane in Sanford. The man denied this and said he was aware of another incidence where someone threw a brick in his female friend’s car window. When pressed further, the man admitted to throwing the brick in her car after she didn’t reciprocate his feelings. Delvin Jacques Davis, 27, of Sanford, was charged with weapon offense into missile a vehicle and 2nd degree aggravated battery.
Roadtrippers
A Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Bureau agent responded to 1547 Carolwood Blvd, Fern Park, on the afternoon of May 19, in response to a stolen vehicle being stopped. The vehicle was found to have suspected pressed fentanyl pills, cannabis, firearms and drug paraphernalia in it. The agent only interviewed the driver because the passenger requested an attorney. The suspect said he was from Philadelphia and came to Florida to “start a new life” and was delivering Uber Eats in the area. He said the drugs were for personal use and that he didn’t plan on selling them. When questioned about the firearms in the vehicle, he said they belonged to his brother who he believed to have ran away after seeing police in the area. The vehicle the suspects were stopped in was stolen from the driver’s mother. Connor Pierce Walker-Klock, 21, of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania and Thomas Coombs, 19, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, were charged with armed trafficking of 14 grams or more of fentanyl, possession of drug equipment and possession of cannabis with intent to sell.
Dognapped
A Sanford Police officer responded to 2315 Palmetto Ave, Sanford, in response to a disturbance in progress on the night of May 19. The officer spoke with the victim, who reported that an unidentified man was walking around his residence and then knocked on his door. As soon as he opened his door, the suspect entered his residence, grabbed the victim’s dog and exited. The victim followed after, getting into a short physical altercation with the suspect that resulted in him getting his dog back. The victim then gave the dog to his wife and made the man leave his property. Police dispatch then received a call from a man who said he was looking for his dog at the victim’s residence. The man said he was at the Walmart on 3653 Orlando Drive, Sanford. Police conducted a show-up with the victim at the Walmart, who positively identified the man as the suspect. Once in custody, the suspect claimed he was looking for his lost dog and received information that the dog was at the victim’s home. He said he arrived at the home, where he said a female answered the door. He asked her if there was a dog in the house named “Winter,” which she affirmed. She then brought the dog to the door and allowed him to hold it in an effort to identify the dog. He said she then took the dog away from him and her and a male asked him to leave, which he claimed he did promptly. Donald Raymond Smith, 62, of Winter Springs, was charged with unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling.
