Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

Deborah is a big girl, 70 pounds of soft fur and even softer feelings. At just 2 years old, she’s earned the nickname “Chicken” due to her incredibly timid nature. Life in the shelter has been extremely overwhelming for her. Most days, she’s found curled up in the corner of her kennel, quietly shivering with the saddest eyes you’ve ever seen. Our staff and volunteers do all they can to comfort her, giving her daily outings and quiet time in the office, where she is still often found hiding under desks or tucked into corners. Leaving her kennel can be so scary that she often shuts down, and we’ve lovingly gotten creative, carrying or carting her through the shelter just to give her a break. Deborah is looking for a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and take her time to come out of her shell. We know the loving, loyal dog she can become is just waiting for the right person to show her the way. Please consider stopping by Seminole County Animal Services, 232 Eslinger Way in Sanford, to meet this special girl. Adoption hours are Monday – Friday 12–6 and Saturday 10–4. Or visit seminolecountypets.com to see Deborah and all the other amazing pets waiting for a home. Let’s help our girl, “Chicken” find the peace and love she so deeply deserves.
