Reverend Anthony Miller, 83, of Sanford, Florida, answered the call from God on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Aviata at Lake Mary, Lake Mary, Florida. He was born in Sanford, Florida, on September 8, 1941, to the late Andrew Miller and the late Vinie Mae Miller. Reverend Miller attended Seminole County Public Schools in Sanford and graduated from Crooms High School, Sanford, Florida, Class of 1961. He retired in October 2025, after serving as the pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, located at 1843 Jerry Avenue, Sanford, Florida, for over 32 years, dedicating his life to serving God and others. An avid golfer, Reverend Miller enjoyed traveling and shooting pool. His generosity and kindness significantly impacted many people in the Sanford community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Vinie Mae Miller, and his sister, Delores P. Miller.
Reverend Anthony Miller leaves a legacy of love, giving, and devotion. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Y. Holt-Miller; daughter, Dr. Venetia Marshell (Michael, Sr.) Siplin; bonus son, Alejandro (Virginia) Holt; grandchildren, Shameka A. (Jose) Cruz and Michael (Shayna) Siplin, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Zaia Siplin; siblings, Willie Mae (Anthony, Sr.) Church, Annette (Pastor Roscoe, Jr.) Lane, Brenda (Frederick) Lucas, Vinie Murphy, Reverend Willie Gene (Brenda) Miller, Deborah M. Miller, and Towanna Engram; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many sorrowing friends.
The Viewing will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
The Homegoing Celebration Service for Reverend Anthony Miller will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1843 Jerry Avenue, Sanford, Florida. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Park Cemetery in Lake Mary, Florida.
