HCA Florida Lake Monroe celebrates National Trauma Awareness Month

HCA Florida Lake Monroe celebrates National Trauma Awareness Month

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is celebrating National Trauma Awareness Month by reuniting trauma survivors with the first responders, trauma surgeons, nursing team and physical therapists who saved their lives and contributed to their care. The hospital recently dedicated a garden in their honor at a special reunion and invited survivors to place butterfly sculptures in the garden to symbolize transformation, resilience and renewal.

This Seminole County Trauma Center provides a higher level of care beyond the capabilities of an emergency room.

“We are honored to offer the highest level of care for our community and save lives every day,” said John Gerhold, CEO of HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital. “During the trauma survivors reunion, we had the opportunity to recognize everyone who helped in these healing journeys – from our incredible EMS partners, to our hospital care team and most importantly, the survivors and families who have shown remarkable strength.”

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, a 221-bed acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, serves the communities of Seminole, west Volusia and Lake counties. The hospital provides the only full-service comprehensive cardiovascular program in Seminole and west Volusia, including open heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation and comprehensive diagnostic services.
