When Seminole County Virtual School student Stella “Milo” Martini, a Seminole County School senior, was unable to attend graduation due to medical treatment at Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital, graduation came to her.
Orlando Health Lake Mary hospital and Seminole Country Virtual School teamed up to make sure the patient would not miss this special day by holding graduation at the hospital.
The event, organized by a hospital nursing leader and her team, featured all the hallmarks of a traditional graduation—caps, gowns, cheers, and the presentation of Milo’s official diploma.
Surrounded by her family, hospital staff, the assistant principal and an assistant superintendent with Seminole County Public Schools, Milo’s achievement was celebrated in an unforgettable ceremony.
