Boardwalk Bowl, Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida to host fundraising event for children with critical illnesses

Roll on in and help Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida strike out some of the wishes for children with critical illnesses on their waiting list.

Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida and Boardwalk Bowl are teaming up for Bowling for Wishes, where 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida to help them make magical moments happen for kids in the local community. The event will take place from 12 to 3 p.m. Aug. 9, with attendees checking in at 11:30 a.m.

Attendees will receive a lane for 5 bowlers, 3 hours of bowling and shoe rental for all players. Those who can’t make it to the event can donate a lane to a local wish family so they can enjoy an afternoon filled with family fun. Along with some healthy competition, attendees will be able to enjoy music from a DJ, visits from local VIPs and the chance to win prizes.

Lanes and donated lanes are $250. Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida works to raise funds and grant life-changing wishes for local children who are fighting critical illnesses. Since 1994, the organization has granted more than 7,400 wishes to eligible children thanks to the help of donors, staff and supporters across the area.

“We’re all about family fun and the community at the Aloma Bowling Centers,” said Jennifer Halpern, general manager. “This event brings that together perfectly, and we’re so happy to know that kids with critical illnesses will have their wishes granted because of the support of our guests at Bowling for Wishes.”

Boardwalk Bowl is the largest entertainment center in the Southeast with 80 bowling lanes.
