The City of Winter Springs is proud to announce it has secured $1.17 million in appropriations as part of the state of Florida Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget.
These appropriations have the potential to help accelerate much-needed
improvements to infrastructure, water quality, and conservation efforts in the City.
Projects approved for funding:
• Michael Blake Reclaimed Water Extension: $760,000 requested from the
state, with a $200,000 match from the city. This extension will contribute to the city’s ongoing efforts in water conservation and reducing the use of potable water for irrigation.
• Winter Springs Boulevard Valve Addition: $40,000 requested, with a $10,000 city match. This addition will help improve control of water systems and minimize outages.
• Aerator Improvements at Three Water Plants: $750,000 requested, with a
$250,000 city match. These improvements are part of the city's efforts to enhance water infrastructure and increase resident satisfaction with water quality.
This critical funding was sponsored by Florida Representatives Rachel Plakon and David Smith and State Senator Jason Brodeur, whose support was instrumental in obtaining this funding.
