Nemours Children’s Health, one of the nation’s
largest multistate pediatric health systems, has named Robert Snyder, MD, Chief of
Florida Primary Care. In this role, he will oversee the Nemours Children’s primary
care network, which includes 19 primary care offices throughout Central Florida and
the Treasure Coast. He replaces Thomas Lacy, MD, who recently retired after serving
in the role for more than a dozen years.
“Over Dr. Snyder’s extensive career, he has consistently been a driver of clinical
excellence and innovation in patient care,” said Martha McGill, BSN, MBA, MHA,
Central Florida President for Nemours Children’s Health. “His leadership will be
instrumental in strengthening our commitment to providing outstanding patient-
centered care, building Central Florida’s largest pediatric primary care team, and
creating the healthiest generations of children.”
Prior to joining Nemours Children’s, Dr. Snyder served as Medical Staff President for
Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He has more than 25 years of experience in health
care, which includes roles in primary care, executive leadership, and hospital
administration.
“Nemours Children’s Health is a leader in pediatric primary care in Central Florida,
and I look forward to leading and working with the talented and committed primary
care physicians who continue to do impactful work while providing high-quality care
to our patients,” said Dr. Snyder.
Dr. Snyder earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney
Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University) and completed his pediatric
residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He is board certified in pediatrics and a
fellowship-trained pediatrician. In addition, he has received multiple awards for his
contributions to medical education and patient care, including the Golden
Stethoscope Award and the Ohio State Medical Student Teaching Award.
