The City of Oviedo, in partnership with the St. John’s Water Management District will host an informative and educational Water Conservation Expo for residents and homeowners’ associations.
The Expo will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oviedo Cultural Center, 357 Center Lake Lane, Oviedo.
The event will feature guest speakers, presentations; and a panel discussion with interactive Q&A along with vendor booths that will have practical water-saving tips and resources to help residents easily put them into practice at home.
“This is an important discussion for every resident in Oviedo,” said Oviedo City Mayor Megan Sladek. “We want to educate residents and HOAs who are using a lot of potable water to water their lawns. Our goal is to preserve the aquifer for generations.”
The District is excited to partner with the City of Oviedo to share valuable water conservation information with residents and homeowners’ associations,” said St. John’s River Water Management District’s Water Conservation Coordinator, Deirdre Irwin.” We can all play a role in protecting our water resources.

- Deirdre Irwin - Water Conservation Coordinator at the St. Johns River Water Management District
- Dr. Heather Kalaman - Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Horticulture Agent for UF/IFAS Extension Orange County
- Claire Mitchell - Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Statewide Education Manager

The Water Conservation Expo is free and open to Oviedo residents, HOA board members, and HOA management companies looking to learn about effective ways to conserve water.
