St. Johns RIVERKEEPER (SJRK) is celebrating its 25th Anniversary by inviting the community to take part in “25 for the St. Johns,” a new challenge designed to combine fun, fitness, and fundraising for the health of the St. Johns River.
Now through November 3, participants pledge to travel 25 (or more) miles – by paddling, walking, hiking or biking – while raising funds to protect and restore the iconic St. Johns River.
“Every mile brings awareness, and every pledge fuels protection,” said Lisa Rinaman, of the St. Johns RIVERKEEPER. “This is a unique way for people to enjoy the river while making a tangible impact.”
The goal is to raise $10,000 to support SJRK’s mission as they advocate for clean water and a healthy river. All funds raised support their vital advocacy, education, and outreach initiatives in our community.
This is a campaign by the community, for the community. Anyone who wants to participate can register and create their personal fundraising page online at https://secure.qgiv.com/event/prmd9p
Incentives include:
Raise $250 for a St. Johns RIVERKEEPER shirt or hat
Raise $500 for both
Raise $1,000 for a ticket to the annual Oyster Roast at https://stjohnsriverkeeper.org/event/save-the-date-oyster-roast/
Raise $2,500 for a private boat trip on the R/V Larkin
The challenge will conclude with a wrap-up celebration to honor the miles completed and funds
raised.
“Whether you’re walking, paddling, or biking, this is an opportunity to connect with the river and join us in ensuring it’s protected for the next 25 years,” Rinaman added.
