Story of Lori - Urgent Adoptable Pet
The dog came to us without a name. For weeks the dog wandered around our neighborhood of Sanford Heights, begging for food, taking handouts of food and water from our neighbors, always avoiding capture. Somebody suggested she gave birth to puppies, and they died of hunger or were eaten by coyotes. My wife Barbara finally lured her to our enclosed yard, and we started feeding her and providing shelter against rain in a make-shift lean-to made of plastic sheets. She bears the marks of a long abuse – beatings and starvation. She is sweet and silent, her barking likely beaten out of her. She took to us easily, loves to be petted and plays happily with dog toys.
We love her and she appreciates our care. But we have three cats, are renting a small house and simply cannot adopt this much deserving dog. She would make a lifelong loving companion to anybody who would recognize her sweet nature. I started to call her Lori. You may find another name for her; she would love you anyway.
