With teams taking a break in District play, several teams decided to hold a special night and it proved to be successful move for Lake Mary, Oviedo and The Master’s Academy.
The Rams (4-2) got off to a fast start and never looked back in rolling over North Miami Beach (3-3), 45-13, to make Homecoming an even better celebration.
The host Lions (4-2) were able to answer every threat from Hagerty (3-3), using a couple of late scores to pull away from the rivals to win, 41-26, to retain the Football Challenge Cup, the award for winning the Battle of Oviedo.
The Eagles (4-3) had little trouble in romping past Palm Beach Christian Prep (0-7) as TMA honored its five seniors.
Also winning on Friday were Lake Brantley (5-1), which overcame a slow first half to dominate Kissimmee-Tohopekaliga (3-3), 43-7, and Lake Howell (5-2) continued its strong campaign with a 51-6 victory over county rival Lyman (0-6).
