Don’t Touch a Woman’s Purse
A Florida woman got back what was her’s after her purse was stolen. While she was get- ting items out of her car, the suspects drove up and took her purse. The thieves immediately fled but hours later she received an alert that her credit card had been used at Checkers. She and two others then went out to retrieve her items from the purse-snatchers, who were stopping for a treat. She spotted them in the drive-thru lane and proceeded to get her purse from the black Toyota Camry. Before they drove off, they ran over her foot. Later on, they saw the same car and began to follow them. Police say the woman and her passengers both recalled seeing the windows of the car go down and shots being fired. Police were eventually able to locate the suspects as they pulled out parked from a drive- way. Three suspects Alyssa Levy, Willie
Goosby III, and Makhi Edwards were all charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
Serial Dumper
15-500 lbs of debris was illegally dumped in the area of Pecan Avenue and 6th Street. Police arrived and found a large amount of debris alongside an open utility trailer, a washer, large capacity freezer, and multiple pieces of wood. Richard Bernard Taylor, 53, was the culprit and had been warned before. He has been aware that the debris needed to be removed since June 4, 2024. Officers noticed that more stuff had been added to his pile and Taylor was taken into custody for knowingly dumping the additional appliances.
Riding Dirty
Seminole County Deputies arrested four individuals after a traffic stop. According to a statement, deputies were notified at 4:45 p.m. by Flock safety that a silver Ford Mustang was traveling on Hwy 91 with a suspended license and no valid registration. After confirmation, a traffic stop was then conducted. Due to the marijuana smell coming from the car, a probable cause search was performed. During the search, two stolen guns, cocaine and marijuana were found in the vehicle.
Internet Predator Caught
A man was arrested and charged with 30 counts of possession with intent to promote child pornography. Seminole County detectives received cyber tips leading to the discovery of items on Walter Beltran Umana’s electronics. The reports were from Dropbox and Instagram, providing detail of the large amounts of inappropriate photos and videos. After reviewing the information, Seminole County and Crimes Against Children detectives met Umana and his wife at their Winter Springs residence where he only wanted to speak to detectives with his wife present. According to a statement, when he was con- fronted with the reports, “Walter’s gaze changed and his body appeared to slump slightly as he leaned against his vehicle.” Walter initially denied ownership but then admitted the data was his. Some of the folders had up to 500 pictures and videos. One of Beltran Umana’s platforms, ‘Telegram’ had 250GB of data mostly filled with child pornography. He also admitted that he used multiple applications to share items with members and that his wife knew of his addiction in the past.
