Oviedo Medical Center, part of HCA Florida Healthcare, announced today it has been recognized for exceptional clinical outcomes by Healthgrades, the No. 1 site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital. Oviedo Medical Center is a 2026 Healthgrades five-star recipient for hip fracture treatment, a five-star recipient for outpatient total hip replacement for the second year in a row (2025-2026), and a five-star recipient for treatment of sepsis for the fifth year in a row (2022-2026).
Additionally, Oviedo Medical Center received a prestigious grade of A this week from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog organization focused on patient safety. This national ranking reflects the hospital’s commitment to high-quality patient care and protecting its patients from infections, injuries and accidents.
“These national recognitions are a testament to the dedication of our team to provide the highest quality of care to our community,” said Oviedo Medical Center CEO Cameron Howard. “It is an honor to be recognized by Healthgrades for the exceptional work of our colleagues to help our patients live healthier lives, and our ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group affirms our culture of safety and ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and patient trust.”
Healthgrades annually evaluates risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top hospitals in key specialty areas. These evaluations empower patients to find a hospital that excels in their procedure or condition.
“Healthgrades’ specialty awards identify the nation’s top-performing hospitals in key service areas, helping consumers find high quality care tailored to their specific needs,” said Alana Biggers, MD, MPH, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “We’re proud to recognize Oviedo Medical Center for its consistently superior outcomes in the critical care of patients with sepsis, in hip fracture treatment and in outpatient total hip replacement.”
