Obituary for Jeanette James Williams

Mrs. Jeanette James Williams, 77, of Longwood, Florida, transitioned peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jeanette was born in Columbus, Georgia, on January 1, 1948, to the late Mattie Averett and Frank James. She graduated from Spencer High School on June 5, 1965, and went on to attend Florida A&M University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in social science in June 1968. She later continued her education, completing a master’s degree in counseling. Jeanette’s professional career was one of service and compassion. She worked in Social Work for Florida Health and Rehabilitation Services and later held positions at Valencia Community College and Lake Orienta Elementary School. Her dedication and leadership ultimately led her to become the Counseling Director at Lyman High School. Jeanette was united in marriage to Joseph Williams, her devoted husband of 57 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Julye M. Williams and Janice M. Williams, who reside in Bethesda, MD, and Nashville, TN. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Episcopal Church of John the Baptist
100 Bethune Drive Orlando, Florida 32805. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM–6:00 PM, also at the Episcopal Church of John the Baptist. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery Inc., 150 Cypress Way, Casselberry, Florida 32707. Final arrangements are entrusted to A.C. Wynn Funeral Services, Inc. Phone: (321) 363-3685
