
Habitat for Humanity Seminole–Apopka and Wharton-Smith, Inc. along with leading Central Florida home builders, have celebrated the successful completion and dedication of the 2025 Builders Blitz home in Sanford, marking another step forward in addressing the region’s critical affordable housing shortage. The event drew community leaders and members to witness the power of industry collaboration and the impactful transformation of homeownership for a deserving local family.
This year’s Builders Blitz, generously sponsored and built by Wharton-Smith, Inc. in partnership with skilled subcontractors and volunteers, culminated in a heartfelt dedication ceremony. The new homeowner was present to share her story, receive the keys to her new home, and celebrate alongside project partners and guests.
Habitat for Humanity Seminole–Apopka CEO Penny Seater and Wharton-Smith President & CEO Tim Smith addressed attendees, underscoring the importance of industry leadership and public-private partnership in tackling housing insecurity. The event highlighted the contributions of numerous subcontractors and suppliers, all united by the common goal to accelerate affordable home construction and create generational stability through homeownership.

Builders Blitz 2025 is a testament to what can be achieved when companies, volunteers, and the community join hands for a shared purpose helping families build equity, stability, and brighter futures,” said Penny Seater, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Seminole–Apopka.
Along with hearing from the new homeowner, Carrie, and Habitat leadership, the dedication ceremony featured remarks from David Johnson - Seminole County Property Appraiser and Habitat Board Chair, Tim Smith - President & CEO Wharton-Smith, Pastor Franklin Devontenno - Safe Harbor Church, Sanford, FL, and Barry Cotton - Central Florida District Director who presented a letter to Carrie on behalf of Florida Senator Rick Scott.
The dedication ceremony concluded with a ribbon cutting, home tour, and the opportunity to connect with industry leaders about future partnership possibilities.
