Former Sheriff’s Office employee Leroy Green had charges against him dropped in prostitution sting arrest and wants it to be known.
Green and two other men were arrested in May when deputies performed an undercover operation at Seminole County Parks. The investigation originally involved undercover police texting with three men and arranging to meet up. According to the arrest report, Green exposed himself while sitting in his car before he was arrested. He was charged with exposure of sexual organs and soliciting prostitution. Charges were dismissed as the alleged exposure could not be proven due to it not occurring in a public place.
Green held a press conference on Friday, demanding that his innocence be broadcasted. “I cannot express enough how much the outpouring of support and words of encouragement from our community have meant to me and my family over the last few weeks,” said Green. “There are many lessons learned throughout this experience. Not the least of which, is that no matter what your belief, like Jesus himself, we can all learn to extend more grace, and mercy and kindness to each other as neighbors.”
Green shared that there has been trauma and strain to his family in recent years and “now that this process is behind us, my request is that we be provided the privacy, time, and space to pursue our path to healing.”
Harold Mills is among the men arrested and also had his charges dropped. He was also represented by Mark Najame. “From the onset, I stated that initial reports are often inaccurate and wrong,” said Najame. “Not guilty papers were filed, our factual and legal positions were listened to, and no charges brought.”
