Pet of the Week: Thelma

Thelma, a gentle four-year-old cat, finds herself in need of a new loving home after her longtime owner could no longer care for her. Rescued alongside a companion who has already been adopted, Thelma now waits patiently hoping for someone to open their heart to her too. Thelma is slowly adjusting to the shelter environment, but it's clear she longs for the comfort of a real home. Shelter staff believe she may take some time to fully settle into a new environment, which is why they recommend a quiet space where she can decompress and feel safe. Thelma is fully vaccinated and ready to embark on a new chapter of her life with a compassionate owner. Despite her initial shyness, those who have spent time with her note her gentle nature and affectionate demeanor once she feels secure. If you can open your heart and home to this sweet, scared girl, you'll be rewarded with endless love and gratitude. Those interested in meeting Thelma are encouraged to visit the shelter during adoption hours Monday – Friday from 12-6 and Saturday from 10-4. The shelter is located at 232 Eslinger Way in Sanford.
