Surgical unit patient Joe Nemecs could not celebrate his 73rd wedding anniversary with his wife at home, so team members at Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital brought the celebration to him.

The team put together a tray of desserts for them and presented the couple with a gift basket with matching robes, slippers, water tumblers, along with a spa kit.

Nemecs and his wife met at a church dance when they were both 16 years old and he saw her from across the room and went over and asked her to dance.

He said, “I got to ask this girl to dance and if she says yes, I know I will be dancing with her for the rest of my life.” The rest is history!

Joe said that he had a wonderful experience at Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital. His wife mentioned that they have “never felt so loved.”
