Winn-Dixie, together with the Winn-Dixie Gives Foundation, recently teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and Comite Civico to distribute turkeys for 500 local families facing hunger ahead of the holiday.
Second Harvest estimates 1 in 7 Central Floridians – and 1 in 6 children – are facing hunger this holiday season. While the food bank is distributing enough food for 300,000 meals a day, the need for food assistance remains elevated. Partnerships like this one with Winn-Dixie are critical for local hunger relief efforts.
