TAMPA (January 5) — Monday was a banner day for the Lake Mary High School football program.

Quarterback Noah Grubbs was named the 2025 Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Football and Scott Perry was been named the 2025 Florida Dairy Farmers Football Coach-of-the-Year following a final round of voting by a statewide panel of high school football coaches and media representatives.

Grubbs, who was previously selected as the Class 7A Player of the Year, helped Lake Mary to a 12-3 record and the school’s first state title by completing 234-of-402 passes for 3,250 yards and 40 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.

The University of Notre Dame signee completed his four-year varsity career with 11,537 passing yards and 143 touchdown passes. He also found the end zone 16 times on the ground.

Grubbs, who is the first winner from a Seminole County school in the 34 year history of the award, captured 14 of the 30 first-place votes and finished with 209 points. Class 2A POY Xander Edwards, a sophomore from The Bolles School was the runner-up, receiving eight first place votes, and finishing with 123 points. Class 3A POY TJ Cole of Raines finished third (87 points) followed by Class 4A POY Dereon Coleman of Jones (62), Class 5A POY Mason Mallory of St. Thomas Aquinas and Class 1A POY Jyron Hughley of Cardinal Newman (54), Rural Class POY Richard Roundtree of Hawthorne (25), Independent Class POY Marcus Stracke of Delray American Heritage (22) and 6A POY Javian Mallory of West Boca Raton (12).

This is the second recognition of this type for Grubbs, as back in late December, he was named the 2025 MaxPreps Florida High School Football Player of the Year.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2025 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

In a 28-27 win over Vero Beach in the state championship game, Grubbs completed 26 of 49 passes for a season-high 348 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the team with 54 yards rushing.

Lake Mary was trailing 27-21 in the final seconds at the Vero Beach 43-yard line when Grubbs completed a pass to Barrett Schulz, who then handed it off to Tavarius Brundidge Jr. for the game-winning touchdown as time expired.

Grubbs helped avenge last year's state championship game loss to Venice with a 31-26 win in the semifinals. He completed 23 of 34 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns to go with another score on the ground.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.

Perry, a Lake Mary alum who played for the University of Florida under the legendary Steve Spurrier, just finished his 20th year as head coach at the school and led the team to a 12-3

record and the Class 7A state championship. Lake Mary’s first state title came on the heels of a state runner-up finish in the school’s first state championship game appearance in 2024.

Perry, who has posted a 153-72 career record, is just the second Seminole County winner of the program, following Seminole High School’s Eric Lodge in 2020.

He was earlier named Class 7A Coach-of-the-Year, receiving 11 first-place votes and 156 points to finish ahead of Class 3A Coach-of-the-Year Donovan Masline of Raines, who picked up 10 first-place votes and 147 points. Class 1A COY Jack Daniels of Cardinal Newman (94 points) finished third followed by Class 5A COY Roger Harriott of St. Thomas Aquinas (61) and Rural Class COY Cornelius Ingram of Hawthorne (52). Rounding out the voting were 2A COY Jared Clark of Cardinal Mooney (37), 4A COY Elijah Williams of Jones (36), CoIndependent COY Gunnar Cox of West Nassau (31), Class 6A COY Dylan Potts of West Boca Raton (19) and Co-Independent COY Jonathan King of Delray American Heritage (15).

The Florida Dairy Farmers High School Sports Awards program exemplifies Florida Dairy

Farmers' commitment to the state's youth. This marks the 34th year of these unique awards as

we honor the state's top athletes and coaches in FHSAA sanctioned sports. The program also

emphasizes to young people the importance of keeping dairy products a primary part of their

diet in their overall nutrition plan.
