With the dream of owning their own business, Nicole and Mike Schmidt recently embarked on a new journey, now operating Signarama in Lake Mary. “We wanted the opportunity to build something we are proud of, create quality work we’re proud of and serve our customers in a meaningful way,” said Nicole. “We love creating signs our customers are proud of and excited to see. The creativity and problem-solving that signage brings, taking an idea, sometimes just a concept, and turning it into something real and impactful, is what motivates us every day. We take pride in helping our customers stand out and succeed through custom signage solutions.”
Although Signarama Lake Mary has been serving the community since 2019, providing custom signage and branding solutions for businesses of all sizes, the couple began their ownership this month.
The Schmidts are originally from Hamburg, New York, just outside of Buffalo and grew up about a mile and a half down the road from each other but didn’t meet until their twenties.
“We moved here for the opportunity to grow our business and enjoy better weather, and when the chance came to purchase this business, Florida felt like the perfect fit for us both personally and professionally,” she cited.
With their shared experience Mike and Nicole knew that Signarama would be a perfect fit.
“I come from a graphic design background and have been working in the sign industry for nearly a decade, with experience spanning design, production and project management,” said Nicole. “My business partner, Mike, has a background as a mechanic and has been in the sign industry since 2024, bringing strong technical skills, problem-solving expertise, and hands-on installation experience to our team.”
She added that Signarama manufactures a wide range of custom signage, including dimensional letters, acrylic signs, aluminum panels, vinyl graphics, wall murals, window graphics, way-finding signage, parking and regulatory signs and branded interior and exterior displays. Each product is tailored to the client’s needs, with a focus on quality materials and professional installation.
“What sets us apart is our personalized, consultative approach,” said Nicole. “We take the time to understand each client’s goals, brand, and space before recommending solutions. Our combination of strong design expertise, attention to detail, and reliable execution allows us to deliver signage that is both visually impactful and functional, while keeping communication clear and timelines on track.”
Specializing in custom signage of all kinds, Signarama’s projects are highly customized. Mike and Nicole are also always happy to discuss current promotions or find solutions that fit their customers needs and budgets.
