ORLANDO PRIDE
The Orlando Pride (0-0-2, 3 points) scored two second-half goals to play to a 2-2 draw against C.F. Monterrey Femenil (0-1-1, 1 point) in the second leg of the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup on Saturday night at Inter&Co Stadium. The Pride earned two points by winning the end-of-regulation shootout, 5-4, with Sofia Manner making a save and all five Pride players converting from the spot.

* 43’ - Christina Burkenroad (Merel Van Dongen) – MTY 1, ORL 0 _ Just before the end of the half, visiting Rayadas took advantage of a free kick to take the early lead. Forward Nicole Perez took the long free kick and directed the ball into a crowd just inside the box. After a header from Merel Van Dongen, the ball landed at Christina Burkenroad’s foot in front of net, who was able to do just enough to get a shot into the goal.
* 50’ - Alex Kerr (Kylie Strom) – ORL 1, MTY 1 _ The Pride leveled the match after Alex Kerr received the ball out wide from Kylie Strom on the right flank, dribbled in past a few defenders and got a shot off from the top of the box that was perfectly placed into the bottom corner of the net.
* 61’ - Rebeca Bernal (Diana Evagelista) – MTY 2, ORL 1 _ Rayadas retook the lead after Diana Evagelista found an oncoming Rebeca Bernal at the top of the box who fired a shot into the upper corner of the net.
* 83’ - Julie Doyle (Celia) – ORL 2, MTY 2 _ The Pride got a late-game equalizer thanks to second-half substitute Julie Doyle. Summer Yates gained control near midfield before finding Celia on the outside deep in Rayadas’ defensive zone. After dribbling into the box, Celia sent a low cross in front of the net and Doyle was able to redirect it to the back post.

The Pride will wrap up their Group Stage matches of the NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup by welcoming Racing Louisville to Inter&Co Stadium tomorrow (Thursday). The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. and will stream on Paramount+.

NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY
New Smyrna Speedway will be hosting the J&C Gradall Modified Challenge Series Twin 35’s on Saturday.
In addition to the two 35-lap Modified features, other Divisions in action will be the E Mods (25 laps), Black Jack Seal Coating Bomber A (20 laps) and Florida Southern Ground Pounders (20 laps).
Pit gates open at 2 p.m. with Division Practice from 3:30 p.m.-to-5 p.m. Ticket booths and grandstand gates open at 3:30 p.m. Come early and get $5 off General Admission until 6 p.m. Qualifying for the J&C Gradall Modified Challenge Series and Heat Races at 6 p.m., followed by Feature Racing at 7:30 p.m.
Adult admission is $15 (reserved seating is $20, the top six (6) rows of the Main Grandstand) with all seniors (65+) and military (with valid ID for proof of age or Military affiliation) admitted for $13. Kids 12-17 are $5 (No Early Bird Discount). Kids 11 years of age and under are free of charge (MUST be accompanied by paying Adult to qualify for Free Admission). Pits - Members ($25), Non-Members ($35).

ORLANDO CITY
Orlando City SC (1-0-0, 3 points) dominated CF Montréal (0-1-0, 0 points) in a 4-1 decision in the opening Group Stage match of Leagues Cup 2024 on Friday night at Inter&Co Stadium. The Lions extended their unbeaten streak to six matches across all competitions, their longest streak of the season.
Scoring Summary:
* 7’ - Dagur Dan Thórhallsson – ORL 1, MTL 0 _ It didn’t take long for the Lions to get on the scoreboard thanks to a rebound shot from defender Dagur Dan Thórhallsson. Orlando put the pressure on the visiting squad and Martín Ojeda ripped a shot that was saved by goalkeeper Sebastian Breza. The ball was deflected to Nico Lodeiro, who took another shot that was blocked a defender. Thórhallsson gained control of another rebound from just inside the box and the third shot of the possession found the back of the net to give the Lions an early 1-0 lead.
* 37’ - Facundo Torres (Ramiro Enrique) – ORL 2, MTL 0 _ The Lions doubled their lead on a goal from Facundo Torres late in the first half that was initially ruled offsides but reversed after a review. César Araújo led an attack down the right side of the field and sent a cross into the box that was deflected off Ramiro Enrique in front of the goal and was finished off by Torres on a sliding finish.
* 45+2’ - Ramiro Enrique (Facundo Torres) – ORL 3, MTL 0 _ Right before the end of the half, Torres set up Enrique for a goal of his own. Torres gained control near midfield and led Enrique behind the Montréal defense. The Argentinian forward beat the keeper one on one to extend the Orlando City lead.
* 57’ - Martin Ojeda (Nico Lodeiro) – ORL 4, MTL 0 _ The Lions continued their dominance early in the second half with Ojeda adding a tally of his own. Midfielder Nico Lodeiro chipped a ball to Ojeda that led him behind the Montréal defense before drilling a shot under the goalkeeper for the Club’s fourth goal of the night.
* 69’ - Josef Martínez (Ariel Lassiter) – ORL 4, MTL 1 _ CF Montréal got one back on a connection between two second-half substitutes. Ariel Lassiter led an attack into the Orlando defensive zone and dropped off a pass to Josef Martínez inside the box. The forward turned and ripped a shot that was deflected by goalkeeper Pedro Gallese and rolled into the net.

The Lions will continue their Leagues Cup 2024 Group Stage schedule by hosting Atlético de San Luis from Liga MX at Inter&Co Stadium on Sunday. That match will kick off at 8 p.m. on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
