In celebration of Police Appreciation Day, the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) organized a community social welfare event to express heartfelt gratitude to local law enforcement officers for their dedication,
sacrifice, and service to public safety.
The event took place in two sessions — from 9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Longwood Police Department and from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Apopka Police Department. 20 Volunteers from the Church of God delivered individually wrapped snack packages containing treats and
wellness items for officers serving in both departments. Each package also included a thank-you card, offering words of appreciation for the officers’ dedication and commitment to the safety of the Apopka community.
Officers shared their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. Volunteers and officers later gathered for a commemorative photo.
“Police Appreciation Day gives us a moment to pause and thank the dedicated
officers who work tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe,” said a representative of the World Mission Society Church of God. “Through small acts of kindness, we hope to strengthen the bond between community members and those who serve them.”
This event aligns with the Church’s global efforts through the Mothers Love Street Campaign, now celebrating its second anniversary in 2026. Inspired by the words “Can I give you a hand with anything?”, the campaign promotes kindness and unity in daily life. In conjunction with the
United Nations’ designation of 2026 as the “Year of the Volunteer,” this initiative continues to spread a culture of service, hope, and peace across communities worldwide.
Volunteerism remains at the core of the World Mission Society Church of God, which engages in humanitarian service across five key areas: environmental protection, disaster relief, blood donations, social welfare, and smile campaigns. To date, the Church has conducted more than 4,600 environmental protection initiatives worldwide.
