Wynell Rachel Ferrell Washington, 82, Sanford, Florida was born, August 13, 1943, to the proud parents of the late Clarence and Gladys Ferrell in Sanford, Florida. She transitioned peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Advent Health Hospice, Altamonte Springs, FL She was preceded by her life partner, Freddie Lee Washington, and brothers James Davis and Freddie Davis. 1n 1964, she married her life partner and remained with him until his death in 2001. She became a member of ALL Souls Catholic Church, where she attended and serve faithfully, singing in the Gospel Choir, Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion, and Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary until her health failed. She retired after a thirty-eight-year career in the Seminole County School District as a paraprofessional at Goldsboro Elementary and a secretary at Lakeview Middle School (Millennium Middle School),
She leaves to cherish her memory: Daughters: Tonya Washington Merthie and Keishann Washington Thomas: Bonus Sons: Theron and Spencer, Stepdaughter: Mariah Washington: Grandson: Lyndon Merthie Jr. (Janay), Lorne Merthie, Robert Aaron Thomas II, Great grands: Rai’Nya Merthie, Londyn Merthie, Lauryn Merthie; Godchildren: Raymond Gaines Jr., Kyle Gaines (Zully), Tamella E. Robinson Ford (Edwin), Kristin N. Robinson William, (Silas) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister cousins, po-ke-no friends and classmates.
