Robert E McKee (Bob), age 91 of Sanford Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on January 6th, surrounded by loved ones.
Bob was born on August 9, 1934, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, son of A.D. and Helen McKee. He spent his life as a devoted father, grandfather and businessman. He was a career entrepreneur in the automotive business, later to become a General Contractor who developed residential and commercial properties. His hobbies included flying much of his life as an instrument-rated pilot, an avid golfer and an experienced investor in many markets. Throughout his career and after, he maintained his passion as a loving and devoted family man, hardworking provider and lifelong learner and mentor to many who were blessed enough to know him.
Survivors include his three children and their spouses Lynne (Brian) McKee, Jeff (Liza) McKee, Sandy (Bob) Anderson, his three adoring grandchildren and their spouses, Austin (Jess) McKee, Miles McKee, Jessi Anderson and his youngest sister and her husband, Charlotte (Don) Taylor along with his loving and caring is long-term companion; Nguyet (Wyt] Nguyen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Martha (Lee) Davis, Francis (Larry) Highsmith; his first wife of 23 years and his children’s mother, Betty Jean Brisson.
Bob will be remembered for his honesty, kindness, strength, and sincere anonymous generosity for those in need. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 6th at 11:00 AM at Mayfair Country Club.
