Saturday, Feb. 7, 9:30 to 12 p.m., Museum of Seminole County History, 300 Eslinger Way, Sanford. Cuplet Fern Florida Native Plant Society Florida Native Plant Sale. Featuring a primary focus on trees & shrubs, with limited selection of other native plants for purchase. Late January & February optimal period for planting native trees & shrubs in Central Florida. Cooler temps facilitate establishment of root systems prior to the onset of warmer, drier months. Timing lessens stress on newly planted items & enhances their likelihood of survival. Seminole Audubon Meeting

Sunday, Feb. 8, 2 p.m., IFAS Extension Education Building, 250 W. County Home Road, Sanford. At the monthly meeting, Fred Milch will talk about “How to Landscape for Bird Habitat.”  He will provide an overview of Low Impact Development (LID).  LID is a land planning and engineering design approach to manage stormwater runoff as part of green infrastructure. It emphasizes conservation and use of on-site natural features to protect water quality.  Fred is retired from East Central Florida Regional Planning Council. Museum of Geneva History

Sunday, Feb. 8 & 22, 2 to 4 p.m., Museum of Geneva History, 165 1st Street, Geneva. The Geneva Historical Society has two special displays in the Museum  or by appointment 407-349-5697 (leave a message).  First: The History of Black Geneva has been up for a couple months. The newest display is Geneva Fashion Through the Decades with 7 mannikins dressed in clothing donated by Genevans through the years from 7 different decades. Come see & read about the fashions of the decades & after you have looked, try out a quiz of old pictures of Genevans on the wall to see if you can guess their decade.
